Obedience Obedience is a fun way to bond with your dog. There are three levels divided in to A and B: Novice, Open and Utility. In novice class or for the companion dog (CD) title, the dogs are required to heel on and off lead, stand for examination, come on command, sit stay for one minute and down stay for three minutes in a group setting. In open class or for the companion dog exellent (CDX) title, the dogs are required to heel off leash, retrieve a dumbell over a jump and on the flat, come on command dropping on command half way to owner, jump over broad jump, sit for three minutes, and downing for five minutes with owners out of sight and in a group setting. In Utility or for the utility dog (UD) title, the dogs and owners are required to heel off leash, do a moving stand, signal excercise where the owners can't talk at all, a scent descrimination, directed retrieval excercise, and directed jumping. Each class group is devided into A and B. A is for beginners or those who haven't put that particular title on a dog before. B is for people who have put a title on their dogs before and for dogs who already have that title (in open and utility)
