Shetland
Sheepdogs also known as shelties are NOT collies. They resemble a collie
in miniature and are rough coated. They should be reserved at first when
meeting strangers but not skittish. Their height ranges from 13-16 inches
if they are within standard but they can be larger or smaller then that as
shelties don't breed true. The colors
they come in are Sable, Blue Merle, Tri, Bi-Black, Bi-blue and Sable Merle
although there can be whites they are so heavily penalized as to
effectively eliminate them from competition in the show ring. To learn

We here at
Ripley Hill Shelties strive for correct size, temperament and structure.
All dogs to be bred will be tested for hips, eyes, thyroid, and vWD . We
are currently members of the Central New York Shetland Sheepdog Club
Inc, and going to become members of the American Shetland Sheepdog
Association. All pet quality puppies are sold on a spay/neuter
contract on and all show puppies on a show/breeding contract . All
our puppies whether show or not are guaranteed against genetic diseases.
Prospective buyers will be interviewed, and a house check may be done.
Homes with fenced in yards are preferred but not mandatory. Any visitors
are welcome at any time!!
